I know that it's a good idea to repair permissions around the time when new updates are being downloaded, but I've heard different opinions on weather they should be repaired before or after the download.
Any ideas on which one is the correct one? |

1. If you repair permissions every month or so as a preventative measure, as you should, it's enough to repair them AFTER the installation (installers sometimes write wrong permissions of installed programs)
2. If you never repair permissions, doing it before AND after the installation makes a lot of sense
