This is a very basic question as I am just starting to learn html.

I want the body copy on one of my pages to be HTML type.

I know what to do with images and slices, how do I bring in html type.

And...

I also want to make sure that the page expands or contracts vertically depending on the size of the html body copy.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In what program you are creating the pages?  It sounds like ImageReady?
If yes:

Q1:
Create a separate slice in ImageReady for the text area.

After saving (the file) as optimized, open the resulting HTML document in BBEdit and replace the contents of the table cell with actual text.

Select text and click the  Font button on the Tools palette, type the typefaces you want separated by coma, add "sanserif" or "serif" at the end to tell it to go for the first sanserif  or serif from the available fonts list if none of the fonts you specified is available.

Remember that every paragraph end and line brake has to be coded.  Paragraph gives you double spacing (= two line breaks) but has two tags, beginning and ending <p> </p>.    You can just as well use two line breaks < /br >< /br> for double spacing.

From the Inline Elements from the Tools palette, choose Break and leave all boxes unchecked.

Q2:
To expand the page you should put <table width="100%"> This will cause the table to resize to the size of the browser window and the text to reflow, but the puppy site is simply centered.  In BBEdit, put <center> </center> tags before and after your main table.
